Royal Mountain has signed dark dream pop artist, Ellis. Hailing from Hamilton, ON, Ellis launches her sadness into effervescent melodies and fervent guitar riffs. She released her debut EP, The Fuzz, in November 2018, a collection of songs built from simple instrumentation to take on a gritty, distorted feel.
Ellis released a video for her song, "All This Time" on Wednesday, carefully crafted to take you on a journey through the fuzz inside her head. Watch the official video here.

What the kids are saying about Ellis
Right now, it feels like the new guard of indie rock – once the domain of angsty white men and guitars – is dominated by women like Mitski, Soccer Mommy, Snail Mail, boygenius and Japanese Breakfast who come armed with fresh perspectives both musically and lyrically. In 2019, Ellis is at the forefront of that awakening locally and beyond. - Now Magazine
The effectiveness of Ellis’ sad, dreamy indie rock is that every feeling, every motivebehind the feeling, is one you’ve inevitably dealt with at some point. It’s presented not cleanly or neat but rather simple and pointed; a matter-of-fact phrase wrapped around a beating, aching heart. - Noisey
The Fuzz is a haunting collection of lightheaded, distorted dream pop born of the sadness Siggelkow has felt over the years. - Exclaim!

Ellis will be playing The Monarch Tavern this Friday, January 25th as part of Exclaim!'s Class of 2019 series. Get your ticket here.

Anemone released a dreamy single and video for "Memory Lane." While the song is about "unrepairable distance" from another person, the video focuses more on lighthearted friendship. Of the video, Anemone's Chloe Soldevila says,
“My goal was to honour the joyous summer days I spend in the eastern townships of Quebec; one of the dearest, dreamiest places in my heart. It’s the kind of place you go with your best friends and simply the feeling from being there is larger than life. We always have an epic time. I’m so glad to have met the director Laura-Lynn Petrick. What started with a small plan ended up being a real and blissful week – an adventure worthy of a road trip in Southern Italy, filled with loving encounters, morning swims, wine, and even a quick sea-doo and motorcycle ride. She has a special talent for bringing the best out of life; we didn’t have to pretend to depict the joyous days, we actually lived them.”

Dizzy released a nostalgic video for "Bleachers," a love song that Katie Munshaw (lead vocalist) wrote for her younger sister. The video travels through time, beginning at an innocent, wide-eyed time but taking a dark turn towards the end as a statement on the path our world has taken. Dizzy just finished up a North American tour with Stars. Stay tuned for what they have coming next.
